Temecula Elopement Packages & Guide

Temecula Elopement Packages

Wedding planning is a lot. Even a small one. Between work schedules, budgets, and that one family member who always has an opinion about everything, the whole thing can spiral fast. A Temecula elopement fixes that. You get the vineyard views, the warm weather, the wine, and none of the chaos.

I am Ryan. Born and raised in Temecula, married here myself, and I have photographed over 300 weddings and elopements across this valley. Just hop on the 15, take the Rancho California Road exit, and suddenly you are surrounded by rolling hills, endless rows of vines, and that slower paced wine country energy that makes everything feel less stressful the moment you arrive. Beyond the scenery there is genuinely a lot to work with out here. Hot air balloon rides, day spas, horseback adventures, world class wines, and some of the best sunset light in all of Southern California.

After 300 plus weddings out here I have seen what works and what does not. The venues that photograph beautifully versus the ones that just look good on a website. The spots that feel intimate versus the ones that feel like a tourist attraction. All of that experience is what this guide is built on.

This guide covers everything you need to plan your Temecula elopement. The best venues, the legal stuff, what to budget, and how to make the day feel completely yours.

Now, grab a glass of wine and enjoy!

Temecula Elopement

Best Places To Elope In Temecula, CA

Temecula has no shortage of beautiful spots to get married. Private estates, luxury hotels, vineyards, and hidden corners of wine country that most people never find unless they know where to look. One thing worth knowing before you start searching Airbnb though. The city council has cracked down on short term rentals in Temecula which has caught a lot of people off guard. Some areas of wine country fall under county jurisdiction rather than city and are still fair game but always confirm before you book anything.

Honestly, the wineries are the better move anyway. The properties are stunning, the staff has coordinated hundreds of weddings and know exactly how to make a small intimate ceremony feel special, and you do not have to worry about permit headaches or rental restrictions. If you want your elopement to feel effortless from start to finish, working directly with one of the venues below is the way to go. Here are my personal favorites after 300+ weddings in wine country.

Places To Elope In Temecula

Mount Palomar Winery

One of my favorite Temecula wedding venues is Mount Palomar Winery. Why? Because it offers seriously stunning views, it is easily accessible, and offers plenty of rad spots for rad photos. I’ve shot here multiple times as a Temecula wedding photographer, and the light, the vineyards, and the little hidden corners of this venue make for some really fun shots.

A two-hour photography session runs $150, which is a solid option if you want a Temecula elopement with beautiful scenery without blowing your budget. From rolling hills to vineyard rows, every angle works. If you care about clean, classic wine country photos with a little personality, Mount Palomar consistently delivers.

Ponte Winery

Ponte is one of the most popular venues in Temecula wine country and honestly it earns that reputation. The ceremony site is stunning with giant cypress trees anchoring one end and the vineyard stretching out in front of you as you walk down the aisle. The recently remodeled bridal and groom suites are some of the nicest I have shot in, bright and spacious and right next to everything which matters more than people realize when it is 95 degrees in September. I also love how easy it is to take the bride and bridesmaids right from the bridal suite to the vineyard since it is only like 15 feet away. This is super nice on those nasty hot summer days in Temecula.

Beyond the ceremony there is genuinely a lot going on at this property. Semi Olympic pool, in room spa services, a restaurant with what a lot of people call the best vegetarian lasagna in the valley, and live entertainment at the Inn bar. And if you want to keep the night going after your ceremony the Cellar Bar stays open until midnight. And yes, they make awesome cocktails and typically have a jazz band playing downstairs.

Lake Oak Meadows

Located off Glen Oaks Road, Lake Oak Meadows has a little bit of everything. Vineyard rows, a beautiful lake, cobblestone walkways that rattle every lens in my bag, fire fountains, water features, and a dock that looks incredible at golden hour. Honestly one of my favorite venues in all of Temecula wine country and I have shot at basically all of them.

What I love most about this place is that you have total control of the property. No other weddings going on next door, no strangers walking through your ceremony. Just you two and the whole venue to yourselves. That is a big deal and not something every winery in Temecula can offer.

And the night photography here? Absolutely rad. Fire features, string lights, water reflections off the lake. If you are even a little open to staying late for some after dark shots I will one hundred percent be pushing for that. Trust me on this one.

Private Estate In De Luz

If you love Temecula but aren’t looking for a wine country wedding, De Luz offers a perfect alternative. The private estates here boast stunning views of Temecula Valley, orange groves, and avocado orchards. Plenty of space, seclusion, and quiet make this an ideal spot to elope in Temecula while keeping your day completely private.

Whether you want a ceremony tucked away in the trees or a wide-open spot with sweeping valley views, these estates give you the flexibility to create a day that’s truly yours – no crowds, no stress, just the two of you.

Falkner Winery

Falkner is located off Calle Contento and honestly the vineyards here are some of my absolute favorites in all of Temecula. The way the rows of vines create leading lines straight down into the valley is genuinely stunning and photographs beautifully every single time. Chapin has a similar thing going on but Falkner does it better.

The lower ceremony site is where it really shines though. The processional takes you down a pathway lined with tall cypress trees which looks incredible no matter what time of year you get married. After the ceremony you move straight into the barrel room for drinks which on a hot Temecula summer day is basically perfect. Cool, intimate, and a totally natural flow to the celebration.

One more thing worth mentioning. There used to be a really rad barn on the property that made for some great photos. Then it burned down during COVID and let’s just say the circumstances raised a few eyebrows around wine country. Nobody is pointing fingers. Just saying it was a very convenient time for a barn to catch fire. The good news is the rest of the venue more than makes up for it.

Inn At Churon Winery

Churon does not get the attention it deserves. Located right off Rancho California Road in the heart of wine country, it sits within walking distance of some of the most popular venues in Temecula and yet somehow always feels a little under the radar. That works in your favor honestly.

I have only shot one wedding here and it was awesome. From what I recall, the wedding ceremony area has an elevated Grand Gazebo that overlooks 11 acres of vineyards, and at night the reception area lights up from the marketing lighting. For the price point this place genuinely delivers. If you want the full Temecula wine country experience without the sticker shock of some of the bigger name venues nearby, Churon is absolutely worth a look.

Temecula Wine Country Airbnb

So here is the deal with Airbnbs in Temecula. The city council has been cracking down on short term rentals which has stressed a lot of couples out. But here is what most people do not know. A huge chunk of wine country falls under county jurisdiction rather than city which means those properties are still completely fair game.

And honestly a wine country Airbnb elopement is one of my favorite setups. You rent a gorgeous property, get married in the backyard with vineyards stretching out behind you, spend the night, and maybe jump in the pool when it is all over. No venue fees, no noise ordinances at 10pm, no coordinator telling you to wrap it up. Just your people, your property, and your day completely on your terms.

There are some seriously beautiful Airbnb properties tucked into the hills out here that most people drive right past. If you want help finding one that actually photographs well I am happy to point you in the right direction.

Wiens Family Cellars

Wiens does not get nearly enough credit. Right off Rancho California Road, vineyards surrounding the ceremony area, mountain views behind you. No over the top production, no pretension. Just a cool venue where you and your people can show up, get married, and actually have a good time.

The citrus grove is a nice bonus too. Two completely different backdrops in one place which always shows up well in photos.

Honestly if you are looking for a place that feels relaxed, real, and does not take itself too seriously, Wiens is worth a serious look.

Temecula Wine Country Elopement Check-List

Getting married in Temecula wine country is genuinely not that complicated. Here is exactly what you need to do (and a handy little graphic I designed myself for you more visual brides and grooms).

Handle the Paperwork First

Head to the Riverside County Clerk’s office with valid IDs for both of you. No waiting period in California which means you can pick up your license and elope the same day if you want to keep things simple. Just do not wait until the last minute on this one.

Pick Your Location

Winery, private estate, courthouse, Airbnb in the hills. Think about the vibe you want and let that decision drive everything else. And yes a Temecula courthouse wedding is absolutely a legitimate option if you want zero fuss and maximum simplicity.

Most importantly I will make sure you get incredible photos of your day that you will actually want to look at ten years from now. FAQs

What Is The Best Time Of Year To Elope In Temecula?

Spring and fall are the sweet spots. March through May and September through November give you comfortable temperatures, beautiful light, and the vineyards at their most photogenic. Summer in Temecula is no joke. Triple digits are common and nobody looks their best sweating through a ceremony at 2pm in August. Max pain. If summer is your only option go early morning or golden hour and keep things short.

Can I Bring My Dog To A Temecula Elopement?

Some venues allow it and some do not. Lorimar is one of the more dog-friendly options in wine country which is genuinely great if your dog is part of the family. Always confirm directly with your venue before assuming because policies vary and the last thing you want is a surprise on your wedding day. My dog’s name is Lucy, and if I was eloping I would like her to be my furry dog-of-honor so I feel ya!

Do I Need A Wedding Planner For A Temecula Elopement?

Not necessarily. A lot of the wineries have coordinators on staff who handle the logistics for you. And honestly a photographer who knows Temecula well can cover a lot of the guidance a planner would typically provide. That said if you are planning something with multiple vendors and moving parts a local planner is worth the investment. Either way text me first and we can figure out together what level of support you actually need.
