Stop looking and just hire Ryan. The guy is going to blow up and have a year-long + waiting list any day now.
I knew Ryan was our guy when I saw his work. There just isn’t anyone else working in this naturalistic and unpretentious way in wedding photography, which can so often be over staged and cringe-y. His style is completely original & captures the heart and soul of the people and environment he’s photographing.
Ryan also proved himself to be a top-notch human and showed up for us when our entire wedding plan imploded and we had to make some tough decisions last minute. We were supposed to get married in Markleeville, CA on July 24th, 2021 but the Tamarack fire (which grew out of control 1 week before our wedding date) prevented us from using our original venue, which was the Carson River Resort. It just barely survived the fire and came thisclose to burning down. Thankfully we were able to transition to another wonderful venue called Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City, NV for our wedding day
We asked a lot of Ryan, who had to upend his own travel plans on our behalf and drive through a smokey hellscape to make it to our wedding. He could have easily backed out but he didn’t. On the day of our wedding, the sky was blotted out with smoke and we were experiencing a heatwave in the area. Our venue was in an old historic opera house with no air conditioning. We were all sweating like pigs.
Not only did Ryan come through for us, but he absolutely killed it upon arrival. He was so professional, personable, hilarious, and kept our chatty and drunk friends and family on task during the group photos (not easy).
Additionally, Ryan had an insanely quick turnaround time. He got our photos to us edited and ready to go within a couple of weeks of our wedding day.
We were absolutely floored when we saw the photos. He captured all the important moments and people that I had hoped he would. I’m still getting comments from people about how incredible the photographer was.
An amazing experience all around. Ryan, you saved the day.
